In our comparison of GoDaddy vs. Yahoo web hosting we found the two web hosting companies are somewhat similar in that they both offer a lot more than web hosting. Yahoo! as we all know offers a huge variety of products like a search engine, maps, personals, and instant messaging (just to name a few) but when referring to web hosting services they also carry more than just a web hosting package. Yahoo! also offers services in ecommerce, domains, business email, and search engine marketing. GoDaddy also has a couple other products like auctions and a marketplace that can be found on their web hosting website. They also offer services that compliment their web hosting packages such as domains, email, SSL certificates, reseller programs, business web hosting, and site builders.
As far as comparing one webhosting package, we chose GoDaddy’s $6.99 plan versus Yahoo!’s $7.77 plan. They both offer FrontPage, PHP, Perl, and FTP. Customer support services are similar with tutorials, online guides, FAQ, etc…One difference is Yahoo! has a toll-free 24/7 telephone whereas GoDaddy is not toll free.
